The Siege 1998
I won’t make this a long review. I just want to say: This movie was not good. Denzel Washington, Annette Bening, and Bruce Willis should be a really strong cast, but Denzel was wasted. Bening’s character was weak. Willis basically just stood there.
There was a lot of controversy about this movie’s portrayal of Arabs, but you have to have a bad guy and I thought they showed proper restraint in pointing out that the bad Arabs in this movie had all just gotten here and that most Arabs are good.
There was nothing imaginative here. You never got a fix on what the bad guys were even up to and the good guys just bumbled along knowing nothing most of the time. I don’t really know that they ever figured anything out.
Avoid this one. Get Enemy of the State. It was a much better movie and is probably the one you are thinking of anyway.
