Vanilla Sky

This is a pretty neat movie. It starts out as a movie about a rich guy, then a rehab movie, then some kind of psychological thriller and then something else by the ending. Throughout there is a romance woven in. Tom Cruise plays his part well though I think Jason Lee was a little tinny at times as the buddy. Penelope Cruz was good though it wasn't a huge part for her.

The movie has a really good look to it that gives it some richness too. It's hard to say what gives it that quality but it is definitely there. In some ways it reminds me of The Matrix but without the fighting as this guy struggles to figure out what is going on around him and what is going on with himself. And, like The Matrix, it will leave you guessing for a while too. If that entertains you, you will really like this. But I can also see how people were frustrated with it as well. I just sat back and watched it unfold and enjoyed the trip.
