Star Trek Nemesis

This was a good couple of hours' entertainment. It won't blow you away with anything new, but essentially amounts to a really good television movie. I used to watch re-runs of the original Star Trek but never cared for The Next Generation or anything after. I went with my nephew who was dying to see this movie and couldn't get his parents to take him. He loved it and filled me in on some things like Geordi getting his eyes fixed so he could see without the glasses.

The acting performances were okay but seemed too self-aware and smug. The actors are maybe too comfortable in their roles (as are the writers and director) which I think detracts from the movie. Because it is a franchise you never feel like the crew is in any real danger and after the original Enterprise survived for all those episodes, it seems to get destroyed now more often than it makes it.

Neither disappointing for me (with fairly low expecations) nor particularly beyond expectations. I'll give it a B- for being worth watching.
