And essentially that is the whole movie. It definitely explores ground that not many movies would cover and, as you get to know the characters, they become likable enough. I think the reason why critics hailed this as being such a great movie was the frank way it dealt with sex, the good writing, and the bittersweet ending. Like with most foreign language films I have a hard time telling if the acting is any good. I'm so busy reading subtitles I don't even always know who is saying what and I was most of the way through the movie before I could tell the two boys apart. There is a lot of funny dialog as the three characters bounce off each other, trading insults and insights. And while I didn't think the whole setup was that realistic or the extreme horniness of these two boys, there is some truth there. I don't think this is a great movie, but it is a good one as long as you're open-minded about sex and drug use. I'll give it a B.
