Live Free or Die Hard 2007
I don’t think I ever saw Die Hard 3 and didn’t see Die Hard 2 all the way through. But I really liked the first one. Bruce Willis as the wise-cracking bloodied John McClane is just a great character, the epitome of cool action hero. This movie doesn’t take too long to jump into the action and then starts explaining stuff later. Willis gets his own wisecracking sidekick in Justin Long and they play off of each other pretty well. This isn’t a movie for character development or plot twists. But it is a good action movie, with lots of big shoot-outs and explosions. There are plot holes and laws of physics infractions left and right, but you have to kind of accept all of that. I do have to say that Live Free or Die Hard literally adds a new dimension to car chases by getting them airborne like never before. This is a fun movie that meets expectations from a big action franchise. B+
