The Hangover Part II 2011
I enjoyed The Hangover more than I thought, but still wasn’t surprised when this sequel got lower reviews. The original was so borderline bad that it would be easy for a sequel to lose that edge. Still, when the movie showed up on TV, I recorded it. It isn’t as good as the original, but it takes that original formula and changes it up some. It is the same group of guys, but this time the setting is in Thailand instead of Las Vegas. Is Bangkok really that different than Las Vegas? Not the part that these guys visit. So it is almost like a remake of the original, and that is probably why the critics didn’t care for it. But if you liked the original and the way the characters had to reconstruct the events of a wild night that none of them could remember, then you will probably enjoy this too. I gave the last one an A-, and this one does pale a little, but I think a B is still a pretty good grade and worth watching.
