The Green Mile 1999
I was looking forward to this one. The only thing bad I had heard about it was that it was too long. Though it was long, don’t let that stop you from seeing it because it is still a good story and stays interesting the whole time. My only problem is that there should have been a better pay-off. You see a lot of the major stuff in the previews. Though these are well drawn characters and the performances are all good as they interact, I just felt like the movie lacked oompf. I guess it is inevitable to draw parallels to The Shawshank Redemption, but I feel like that one had more going for it than this one does. I don’t want to give away the ending or too much of the plot but I felt a little cheated.
I can’t give it more than a B.
