Snatch 2000
Snatch is a movie I heard good things about but never got around to seeing. I was able to borrow it using a Screen Pass. Reading reviews of the movie, people said it was very similar to Guy Ritchie’s previous movie Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels, which wasn’t that big a problem for me since I had never seen that one either. It is a movie about a bunch of underworld characters in London who kind of randomly get involved with each other over a very large stolen diamond. They’re maybe a little overly colorful and kind of silly, but the movie is also very dark as a lot of people get killed. Also you don’t really like any of the characters, so in some ways it is kind of unpleasant. But it is still a good story, if a little random, and the characters are interesting and generally funny. It has a similar vibe to Get Shorty and even stars Dennis Farina in a somewhat similar role. Get Shorty was lighter with characters you actually like, but this movie is still entertaining.
