Ingrid Goes West 2017
I heard some good things about this movie long after it had come out and it got a 66 on Metacritic, which can mean it is a pretty good movie. While on a very long plane trip, I saw this in a list of other movies I had already seen, so I decided to take a chance. It follows the title character around, flashing back to when she assaults a friend of hers for not inviting her to her wedding and then has her stalking an online Instagram personality. It may be fresh and relevant because it is about Instagram and crazy internet people, but it seems like there have been a lot of crazy stalker girl movies in the past that aren’t that much different from this one. Aubrey Plaza does a good job in the role, but it is hard to identify with her and just sad to watch what she does in the movie. Kind of a comedy, kind of a horror story, the movie didn’t succeed at either for me and I was glad for it to be over. It is still easy to watch if you want to see someone off of their medication, but not my thing.
