National Treasure 2004

I am pretty sure I had seen National Treasure before, closer to when it came out, but I watched it again after getting picking up a digital copy of the movie in 4k. While it may not be great filmmaking, it is easy and fun to watch. I like how it ties into a lot of actual history, even while it makes a lot of things up. The made up parts can be a real weakness and an easy target for people who say the movie is ridiculous, but it also makes for fun adventure as Nicolas Cage and his friends pull off some clever capers, avoid the police, outsmart the bad guys, and decipher clues. For what it is, this is a well made, fun adventure movie that will keep even those with the shortest attention spans entertained.
