Atonement 2007

B

I had always meant to watch Atonement but pretty soon it was 2015 and I finally got around to watching an 8-year-old movie with a surprisingly young James McAvoy. I knew there was something mysterious that happened on a British estate and then some stuff from the war, so I didn’t know much going in, but that’s almost all there is to it. There is a very good twist at the end and I’m thinking that twist is what makes people like the movie, because otherwise it’s a pretty simple story. There are some long pointless scenes of war and hospitals that really don’t have much to do with the movie. However, it did move quite quickly and I was kind of surprised it was already over once the ending came. I think I was expecting a little more, so I’m a bit disappointed.
