Meet the Robinsons 2007
This Disney computer animated film borrows its look from The Incredibles but is no copycat. While at times the plot drags, there are also some very funny jokes (especially involving the dim-witted bad guy) and a fairly tight story. There is a major plot twist that is hinted at for a while before being revealed, but knowing that it is coming doesn’t take away from the overall experience. The voice actors are good with only one big name, which in itself feeds a pretty good joke. While there is plenty of action, there aren’t the mind numbing intense sequences that are often overused. There are probably a few too many side characters, but it isn’t a problem if you can’t keep them straight. There is also a sweet family story that just avoids being sappy. While this movie may not be as good as the best animated movies, it is still probably better than anything that came out last year.
