The Ox-Bow Incident 1942

A-

I don’t know that I had even heard of this movie, but it was available using a Screen Pass and got very good reviews. Plus it stars Henry Fonda and his buddy is Harry Morgan (Col. Potter from MASH). It is a Western and a morality play about a hastily gathered posse seeking revenge for the murder of a neighbor. They don’t want to wait on courts and evidence, though not everyone on the posse feels the same way. It plays out pretty conventionally and is definitely sort of low budget despite all the horsemen riding around. It doesn’t delve into the characters like 12 Angry Men or focus too much on arguments and persuasion, but it does share some of the DNA. It is definitely worth watching and Henry Fonda does a nice job with his part.
