Peggy Sue Got Married 1986

B

I have always heard good things about this movie, but had never seen it. I wound up getting a digital copy via a promotion and watched it soon after. Apparently it had a lot of problems in development, but wound up with Francis Coppola directing and a number of decent stars, including primarily Kathleen Turner in the title role. She does a nice job as a grown woman transported back to her high school days in 1960. She has a chance to try some different things and has a completely different approach towards life given her experience. That is interesting to see. I don't think all of the magic works, particularly regarding her boyfriend/husband played by Nicolas Cage using a terrible nasally voice. It's a fun premise with a somewhat different take and a good performance by Turner, but the story can be clunky and the characters a litle uneven. I think it just misses a B+ for me.
